In what ways does the metaverse impact and reshape your digital work?
Allan Gregorio: The metaverse, to me, is like this cool, new addition to our digital world. But I don't see it as a replacement for what we've got going on. This extension undoubtedly opens possibilities for new ways of creating and interacting... which makes me genuinely excited.
How do you envision the future of AR/XR with Apple glasses, and what potential benefits do you see for your filter creations?
Allan Gregorio: I think AR is becoming a bigger part of our lives, especially now with Apple Glasses. This goes beyond social media, making our everyday life interactive and fun. For my work, this means more opportunities to expand into new realms, like glasses, beyond just phones. It's an exciting future to imagine!
From entertainment to playful advertising games, how does AR enhance your creative process and allow you to connect with cool communities on social media that actively use your filters?
Allan Gregorio: Ever since I started my journey with AR, one of the most inspiring things has been the ability to connect with people through this medium in such a short period of time. I can create something and it is instantly available to anyone, anywhere in the world. It allows me to create pieces that I like... as a LGBTQ+/immigrant artist for example, I can create AR that supports causes that I believe and reach people in the process. It's a truly unique form of engagement. Having said that, I also learn a lot from the community, which helps me refine my work through their feedback.
