Philth Haus: Disrupting visibility, reshaping market economics through art.

Philth Haus: LA-Berlin collective creating boundary-pushing art transcending borders. Resisting visibility, reshaping market economics. Exclusive interview reveals their vision, projects, and impact. Embrace their thought-provoking creations.

Introduce yourself. "Philth Haus" is a unique name. Can you tell us the story behind it, and how does it relate to your artistic vision and mission?

Hi. We are PHILTH HAUS, a collective based in Los Angeles and Berlin with 6 client members producing music, installation, and film globally. Our anonymity is meant to resist visibility and our work is meant to contaminate globalized market economics.

What upcoming project from Philth Haus are you most excited about, and what can we expect from it?

Currently the collective is heavily invested in more potent ways to increase the financial equity of trans people in America. Money talks and due to the financial hardship of the transness we wish to create “fuck you” money for our trans friends.

We’ve made “I love fucking money” t-shirts to try to get at this point and to use a really ubiquitous medium so anyone can feel like they can buy into supporting trans lives. The t-shirt is a part of our album REPSXL which was released on AQNB. The shirts can be bought via ShirtBangerz.

We love how Philth Haus blends science with art. Can you give us an example of how science has inspired one of your most successful projects?

LYLEX Therapeutics is a blood-infused mushroom supplement we created. We attempted to piggy-back on wellness narratives and introduce a cannibalistic entanglement between consumers and the trans blood donor who gave her blood to the LYLEX supplements.

Blood is infused into mushrooms in purchasable DIY kits, pills, or powders. We made necklaces with Nomi Sladko, a Berlin-based jeweler. A book, LYLEX LOGS, can be found through FCCW LA which gets into the effects and consequences of consuming LYLEX.

It's always fascinating to see the creative process of artists. Can you share with us a behind-the-scenes look at how you come up with ideas and bring them to life?

We are a collective where I, Andra, manage a series of five clients with their own creative outputs. The anonymity of the collective is meant to resist a visibility economy to which we do not have a clear answer or response to yet as of this moment.

We know your art is visual, but can you give us an audio or sensory experience that your work emulates? Something that our community can listen to or experience, that embodies the essence of Philt Haus.

Listen to our latest album, REPSXL, released on the art and music platform AQNB. Many of those songs we have used for the past five years to guide, accompany, and open our practice. Music is highly distributable and a future of artistic access over exclusivity.

Your art seems to have a strong political and social message. Can you tell us about your personal beliefs and how they influence your work?

Economic globalization has presented a new opportunity for connectivity currently used for massive exploitation and the exertion of force over bodies over a distance. We hope to introduce contaminants in these market networks that force closeness between these bodies at a distance – through blood, through water, and through sound.

Your website mentions that you draw inspiration from "the future." Can you expand on that idea and how it relates to your art?

There is no future without you and me, baby.

As a founder and artist, what challenges have you faced in the industry, and how have you overcome them?

Quite simply- pay a bitch. That is the biggest challenge of this industry. Everyone wants a high quality product for no money, and artists, even those inclined against capital, must flex for more economic opportunity. More money for wilder work.

Finally, could you share a message with the @web3allstars community, and what you hope to achieve with your collective's work in the future?

A threat to one body’s autonomy is a threat to everyones’. Visibility is as much a route for control as it is liberation. Shout out to my forever collaborators Nomi Sladko, Nele Jackson, Ben Jackson, and AQNB.
